Description
Apple & Cinnamon:Whether its in grandma’s pie, giant muffins or American pancakes nothing beats the flavour of sweet juicy apple with punchy cinnamon spice. It’s the perfect combination for a lovely fruity, punchy and spicy tea.
Camomile Flowers: Most chamomile teas are made by crushing the flowers – not a nice thing to do. The best chamomile tea comes from brewing the whole flowers – which is exactly what we do. The Chamomile flower is celebrated for its health benefits, which include calming, aiding sleep and supporting digestion.
Chai Tea: Variations of aromatic, spiced, milky tea have been the Indian drink of choice for hundreds of years. We’ve blended rich, malty Assam tea with exotic cardamom pods, cinnamon, ginger and vanilla to develop our own blend of this delicious, satisfying and yummy beverage that encapsulates all the colour and vibrancy of India in a cup.
Darjeeling Earl Grey: Most Earl Greys use poor quality China base tea, which is like palming yourself off as landed gentry when all you own is a Barbour jacket. We use the finest Darjeeling from the foothills of the Himalayas and add zesty bergamot citrus from sunny Southern Italy, to create something altogether more elegant. The blue cornflowers? Well, they just look so pretty.
English Breakfast: Our signature blend, our daily cuppa, our builders brew, our Rosy Lee; call it whatever you want but our everyday brew is the ultimate British favourite. Three delicious teas: Assam, Ceylon, and a lovely Rwandan blended to give a balanced, malty, zesty alliance. (Please note, we have renamed this from “everyday brew” Some packs may state everyday brew but the blend is exactly the same
Green Tea with Mint: Traditional Moroccan green tea with mint is typically drunk sweet – very, very sweet. This is because they use Gunpowder Green, a tea so strong that sugar is needed to remove the astringency. We opted for a more delicate chunmee green tea known as Precious Eyebrows. Better to change the base tea than your teeth, we reckoned.
Honeybush and Rooibos: A nutrient rich blend of rooibos (Afrikaans for “red bush”) and honey bush, two native South African shrubs. They grow only in the Cederburg mountain region of South Africa, and are harvested and prepared in much the same way as regular tea.
Mao Feng Green Tea: Call us soppy romantics, but we like this story. A young man and a beautiful young woman from a tea plantation were in love, but the local tyrant seized her as his concubine. She escaped, only to learn that the tyrant had killed her lover. Finding his body deep in the mountains she wept and wept until she became the rain, while her lover’s body turned into a tea bush. Which is why, according to the legend, the area where Mao Feng tea grows is forever cloudy and humid the whole year round. All together now…ahhh! This tea is special, unlike any other green tea on the market. A green tea liked by people who don’t like green
Peppermint Leaves: Our peppermint tea is fresher and finer than any teabag mint you have tasted before because, as with our regular teas, we insist on whole leaves. Because we use whole peppermint leaves, you’ll find the flavour of this blend much stronger and fresher than regular dusty paper teabags. Sip this when your stomach is grumbling. It’s great after a heavy night out down the Red Lion.
Organic Matcha Green Tea 30g: Variations of aromatic, spiced, milky tea have been the Indian drink of choice for hundreds of years. We’ve blended rich, malty Assam tea with exotic cardamom pods, cinnamon, ginger and vanilla to develop our own blend of this delicious, satisfying and yummy beverage that encapsulates all the colour and vibrancy of India in a cup.
Rooibos Creme Caramel: Most chamomile teas are made by crushing the flowers – not a nice thing to do. The best chamomile tea comes from brewing the whole flowers – which is exactly what we do. The Chamomile flower is celebrated for its health benefits, which include calming, aiding sleep and supporting digestion.
Silver Tips White Tea: Grown in the Fujian province of China, tea buds are plucked within two hours of sprouting, then withered naturally in the sun. If your usual white tea appears green in your cup, then it is green tea; this, however, is the genuine article. Possibly one of our most exclusive teas – refreshing, light and aromatic.
Spiced Winter Red: Most chamomile teas are made by crushing the flowers – not a nice thing to do. The best chamomile tea comes from brewing the whole flowers – which is exactly what we do. The Chamomile flower is celebrated for its health benefits, which include calming, aiding sleep and supporting digestion.
Super Fruit: The wishy-washy fruit teas are no longer – hurrah! We’ve popped real whole berries (cranberries and blueberries to be precise) to give a fruit tea that packs a super fruity punch – finally! These ingredients are great little super-foods so as well as a great tasting cuppa, you get a health kick too!
Sweet Ginger: GINGER, then cinnamon, then sweet. Good if you’re feeling feisty! **This tea contains liquorice root-people with hypertension should avoid excessive consumption.
Yerba Mate: Well, if you’ve ever travelled to South America and particularly Argentina you’ll see yerba being drunk by nearly everyone. Literally. Drunk to help maintain a healthy weight and for its stimulating properties, our yerba tastes a little like a smoky green tea.
