This is a Giclée reproduction on canvas of Cris Sells’ Horizontal Boats. The colors on this canvas make you feel as though you are at the water’s edge.
Cris Sell was born and raised in Cedar Rapids. He spent most of his life as a mechanical engineer. When he retired he decided to try his hand at painting. He discovered an emotion he didn’t know he had. He enjoys doing landscapes and abstracts with farm and cityscapes. He is self taught with no formal art education. He gets his inspiration from just viewing wonderful cloud formations and the interesting patterns in nature. Abandoned farms also intrigue him and he loves their architecture. His goal is to create a visual experience that is both interesting as well as unique.
Giclée printing is a process that uses fade-resistant, archival inks and archival substrates to print on large format printers. Giclée printing is often used by artists to make reproductions of their original two-dimensional artwork, photographs or computer-generated art for resale while preserving the original.
